Being the best in everything we do
The Validium Group’s mission is to help you quantifiably increase the value of your workforce by providing a service that is second to none. A key part of this is ensuring we continue to be recognised as the leading, best quality, psychological services provider throughout the world. Not to mention a great place to work, an excellent organisation to do business with and a valuable contributor to society.
To help us achieve this we strive to achieve excellence in everything we do. It is an approach that has helped us to become a provider of choice, set the standard for our industry and win many accolades – ranging from Cyber Essentials to the International Standards for data protection and environmental management (see our Quality Timeline for more details).
Achieving true quality in everything we do is a key driver for everyone in the company. The Validium team is encouraged to look for improvements to systems, procedures and working practices that can have an impact on the way the Validium service is delivered to its customers. Validium is proud to be the most accredited EAP, psychological and trauma services’ company worldwide, listing the ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and Investors in People (Gold) standards amongst its quality accreditation achievements. Validium colleagues are highly skilled, enthusiastic, energetic, tenacious and committed. Performance is measured, problems corrected and best practices developed that are then communicated throughout the company. Performance feedback mechanisms are in place and are essential in ensuring we maintain operational excellence. We measure and reward our people, not just on commercial results, but on how they live our values and bring them to life every day. The delivery of excellent value is a cornerstone of the business – value that achieves a balance between price, performance and the delivery of an innovative business model. Selecting Validium may not always be the cheapest option, but it will deliver the greatest return on your investment making us the provider of choice for some of the UK’s best-known employers. Validium has continued to grow since its foundation in the 1990’s, showing that, despite the pressures caused by recession and industry rationalisation, our ability to quantifiably increase the value of your workforce, by helping you to address costly absence and performance issues, continues to be an essential business driver.
The Validium team will always go the ‘extra mile’ to deliver the highest standards of service to customers and their employees, working to surpass expectations and building long-term partnerships. Service is a fundamental principle of the company’s culture and the subject of ongoing dialogue within our organisation through our interactive, energised and open style. It matters to us that everyone at Validium feels part of a working team, in which everyone is encouraged to develop their skills and professional competencies to the highest degree. Helping to ensure that the delivery of customer service continues to be at the highest level.
The maintenance of integrity, acting openly, ethically and honouring commitments is a key goal for the organisation and all of Validium’s people. The company follows the SA 8000 Social Accountability standard, to which it was certified to between 2000 and 2016, to ensure that the delivery of our business operations is met both ethically and professionally. The business is managed in a way that provides employment in an enjoyable and safe working environment while providing employees with the opportunities to achieve their ambitions. Validium has always adopted a ‘no blame’ culture in which employees are encouraged to be open and accountable for their failures, as well as their successes, challenging anything they believe to be wrong, while being open to challenge from others. We have been recognised as an Investor in People Employer since 2002 and an Investor in People Gold Employer since 2011. With the advances in the Investors in People Gold standard and its increased relevance to Validium’s social responsibility development, has led the company to no longer be externally audited to SA8000, however, we still continue to follow the valued criteria set out by the standard. Validium’s integrity remains one the leading core values within our business.
Furthermore, the company is also actively involved in helping to influence the direction of the Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), psychological and trauma industries.
It matters to us that our people have respect for one another and our customers and are patient and courteous in all dealings with customers, colleagues and members of the public. To this end it is everyone’s duty to work proactively with one another to ensure we have a company culture of which we can all be proud. As well as showing respect for one another and our customers, by valuing diversity and diverse opinions, it is also everyone’s duty to protect company assets and use them wisely. Validium also strives to enhance the principles of respect on a much wider scale, by using our media profile and expertise to help raise awareness of and change attitudes to social problems such as bullying and domestic violence. Wherever possible we try to use our wider sphere of influence to help change our society for the better.
